We adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of The International Ombuds Association.
We keep all matters brought to our attention strictly confidential. We will not discuss a visitor's specific concerns with anyone without the visitor's express permission to do so. The only exception to confidentiality is if we determine that disclosure is necessary to address an imminent risk of serious harm or when it is required by law.
As a designated neutral, we will not take sides or advocate for any parties in a conflict or dispute. We objectively consider the perspectives and interests of everyone involved in a given situation and promote productive communication, fair processes and equitable outcomes.
An off-the-record resource, we have no authority to make business or policy decisions. We do not participate in disciplinary or grievance processes, act as an agent of notice or accept notice on behalf of an organization, or conduct formal investigations. If a visitor wishes to pursue a formal channel, we can educate them on options for doing so.
We are independent of a client organization's formal administrative channels, such as Human Resources and Compliance. We act on our own initiative to engage senior leadership regarding trends, insights and systemic concerns.
